The Dornean Navy was the space defense fleet of the planet Dornea and the Dornean people. It operated in the Dominus sector. Although it contained just eighty relatively small capital ships, the Dornean Navy successfully resisted the Galactic Empire's attempts to occupy the sector. The Dornean Navy was notable for using ranks that were rendered according to army usage in Galactic Basic Standard, rather than the normal conventions of interstellar fleets. For example, its flag officers were graded as Generals rather than Admirals.
