The Korugarans are an alien race from the planet Korugar located in Sector 1417. Korugar City is the capitol city on the planet Korugar. Korugar's protector was the unorthodox Green Lantern officer known as Sinestro. Sinestro used his power ring to subjugate the people of Korugar City. While professing to be acting in their best interests, Sinestro in fact became a ruthless dictator. When news of Sinestro's actions reached the ears of his superiors, the Guardians of the Universe, Sinestro was drummed out of the Green Lantern Corps.
