The Spanish Socialist Revolution, sometimes called the Second Spanish Revolution, was a political and socioeconomic revolution in Spain in 1927, led by Largo Caballero and the Communist Party of Spain against the weak government of the Spanish Republic, with support from the military. The Revolution ended the 63-year partially democratic republic and established an authoritarian, communist state - the Democratic Socialist Republic of Spain, which would last until its fall in 1985.
