During the closing of the October 6, 2012 broadcast of Saturday Night Live, Killam can be seen along with cast members interacting with Big Bird, who made a cameo appearance on the show. Killam appeared in the 45th season premiere of Sesame Street, playing Professor Buck Awe, a school teacher for chickens who is aided by Elmo. He is married to Cobie Smulders.
