The Republic Census was a census that was carried out during the time of the Galactic Republic. According to the census, by the time of the outbreak of the Clone Wars, the High Galactic alphabet was used by a third of speakers of Galactic Basic Standard. It also revealed that the High Galactic Alphabet was used by over half of Basic speakers who came from noble backgrounds or had an income of more that 500,000 credits.
