The 2011 Cleveland Browns season will be the team's 65th season as a professional sports franchise and its 61st season as a member of the National Football League (NFL). The team had hoped to improve on its 2010 season, where it finished with a record of 5–11 and placed third in the AFC North, however, the team was eliminated from playoff contention in Week 14. This season marks the second season under the leadership of team president Mike Holmgren and general manager Tom Heckert. It will be the first season under head coach Pat Shurmur. The Browns will play all of their home games at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio.
