(VOY: "Scientific Method") Close examination reveals that the logo of Ktarian Merlot, barely glimpsed on the glass bottle, is a re-use of the logo of the Akritirian species. According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 1, p. 446) , this wine was similar to Earth's Saint-Émilion wines. The merlot was made from the fermentation of black Ktarian grapes.
