Joseph Henri Maurice "Rocket" Richard, Queen's Privy Council for Canada, Order of Canada, National Order of Quebec (August 4, 1921 – May 27, 2000) was a professional player who played for the Montreal Canadiens from 1942 to 1960. The "Rocket" was the most prolific goal-scorer of his era, the first to achieve the feat of 50 goals in 50 games. He lived most of his life in Ahuntsic, Montreal. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1961, the customary three-year waiting period being waived in his honour.
