The 2003 GFS Marketplace 400 was a Winston Cup (now Sprint Cup) event held at Michigan International Speedway on August 17, 2003. Ryan Newman won yet another fuel-mileage race, holding off Kevin Harvick by 1.6 seconds for the victory. Points leader Matt Kenseth finished 9th to balloon his lead into 329 markers on Dale Earnhardt, Jr (32nd). Todd Bodine and Kenny Wallace suffered a spectacular crash during the race. Kurt Busch, who triggered the spectacular wreck by tapping Bodine, was punched by Jimmy Spencer for trying to flatten Spencer's fender.Stats
