Skarlath was a male hunting kestrel, and a very fierce one at that. He was the loyal friend of Sunflash the Mace. Their friendship began after he was slammed into a tree by the cold winter winds and called out several times for assistance. Unfortunately, the only beasts that were within earshot were Swartt Sixclaw and his horde, who at the time were busy keeping young Sunflash captive. Sunflash was roped to the tree which Skarlath had been frozen to, and used his body heat to melt the ice and free him.
