The game was initially unveiled at the 2007 San Diego Comic-Con, with models such as the Black Pearl and the Flying Dutchman on show at Gen-Con 2007. The expansion features ships and characters from all three films, and is completely compatible with all other Pirates sets. The game was sold at hobby shops nationwide, as well as traditional retail stores such as Target and Wal-Mart.
