The Tyra system was a star system located within the Alpha Quadrant. The system was located twelve light years from the Cardassian border. (The Dominion War Sourcebook: The Fires of Armageddon) In 2374, the system was the site of a major battle between the Federation and Dominion. The result was the devastation of the Starfleet Seventh Fleet. (DS9: "A Time To Stand"; Star Trek: The Adventures of Argus: "Trial By Fire") After the battle the USS Argus arrived and, finding the fleet decimated, began a search and rescue of the survivors.
