As its namesake suggested, defense outpost Shield was one of two stations commissioned by the Shadow Imperium to serve as a lookout for incoming forces; friendly, hostile, and neutral. Shield was fully operational with the aid of a single Star Destroyer to protect this vulnerable position in the vacinity of Imperium space.
