He was a former Captain of the Guard, the leader of the New Tristram Militia who fought the risen dead attacking New Tristram, but perished in the process. He is found in the Hidden Cellar of Adria's hut with Leah early on in Act I of Diablo III, along with his former soldiers. In combat, he has Fast and Frozen affixes. In Adventure Mode, there is an Elite pack found instead of him.
