A Vampire Hunter is a witch or wizard who is responsible for the killing of vampires, despite such being illegal under paragraph twelve of the Guidelines for the Treatment of Non-Wizard Part-Humans. Consequently, it can be assumed that they are self-employed or else work without permission of the Ministry of Magic. One wizard who attended the Quidditch World Cup of 1994 claimed to be a Vampire Hunter in order to impress a group of Veela, after refuting his friend's claims of being a dragon killer.
