Merveille is a place in the Grand Line called the "Hidden Land in the Clouds". It is where the Golden Lion, Shiki and his doctor, Indigo, created many mutated animals in the hopes of having an army to overthrow the world. Of these animals shown 22 years ago is a land-walking squid, giraffes as tall as skyscrapers, and a giant turtle-like creature.
