The Gentonian trade wars were a series of conflicts fought by the Gentons many years prior to the mid-24th century. The Ullian telepathic historian Tarmin was able to retrieve memory fragments of the Gentonian trade wars from a group of elderly Gentons in less than an hour. His son Jev spent two days with the same group, and was unable to produce any results. This incident was used by Tarmin to embarrass Jev while they were attending a dinner aboard the USS Enterprise-D in 2368. (TNG: "Violations" )
