Elizabeth "Ellie" Harp was the biological mother of Peyton Sawyer Scott. Like her daughter, she was artistic and had a passion for music. She was initially shut out by Peyton, even after she revealed she was dying of a terminal cancer. Peyton eventually grew guilt-ridden about her decision to exclude Ellie and the two grew closer as they produced a CD together. After the benefit album was made, Peyton went to show Ellie the CDs when she found Ellie dead on Ellie's bed. Ellie had a profound effect on Peyton who eventually grew to see her as a second mother.
