The Transfer Yards is a halt on the Skarloey Railway where the North Western Railway meets the Skarloey Railway. It is where cargo can be transferred from standard gauge engines to narrow gauge engines and vice versa. Not many passengers use it, although there is a proper station nearby. The Transfers Yards are where the North Western Railway and Skarloey Railway transfer goods. Thomas brought Freddie to the yards when Freddie returned to the railway. Duncan also brought Thomas logs here in The Great Discovery.
