Hugo was a conman who met Charity Dingle at a bar, during Charity's failed attempt to get money from Tom Waterhouse. Charity takes Hugo back to The Woolpack, and after taking him upstairs, she finds him robbing the till. Hugo, being armed with a screwdriver, is told by Charity to leave and never come back.
