The Manticore SX40 is the alternative pistol for the Vanu Sovereignty. It can be used as a side arm for the Infiltrator, Light Assault, Combat Medic, Engineer,and Heavy Assault classes. It is noted for its higher damage output and shorter clip size than the Beamer VS3. It boasts nearly identical performance as the NC4 Mag-Shot, but trades some projectile velocity for the Vanu empire trait of no bullet drop. It serves as a punchier alternative to the Beamer VS3 for soldiers who can't click fast enough, yet dislike the slow fire rate and somewhat shorter max damage range of the Cerberus, or the NS revolvers, or perhaps simply can't afford the 1000 cert price tag on them.
