"Maleia Kalani is a typical Tomas. It's not enough that she's a champion surfer. Her competitive nature makes her want to find the 39 Clues as well. In order to help her keep her eyes on the prize, she decorated her surfboard with images of important Tomas locations. Once she's crushed the competition on the waves, she's going to take on the hikers at Machu Picchu. Sure, they might not know it's a race, but they'll figure it out once Maleia shoves them off the trail. Her fellow Cahills might prove a little tougher, though.
