Lardgutt was a male searat and a member of the crew of Greypatch on Darkqueen. He was sent by Greypatch to patrol the Mossflower Woods when the searats first arrived in the region and captured Pakatugg Treefleet. He participated in the attack against Redwall Abbey. Lardgutt was a good mate of Bigfang and both shared the same greed and lack of sense, and both were reticent to extend the siege against Redwall. When Greypatch killed Bigfang, however, the searat was forced to follow. Lardgutt was eventually killed by Oak Tom.
