The Machetes are Commando-exclusive melee weapons introduced at the beginning of the 2-week Halloween Promotion in October 2011. The machete works very similarly to the Standard Knife, except that the damage area is conical instead of globular. The machete was met with negative initial reception due to its low damage, slow attacking speed and short range. Because of this, a patch was made that greatly increased the weapon's damage. Players who could attain 1,000 (later 700) kills with the machete before November 1st, 2011 would be able to obtain a special Golden Machete.
