Sapient is the alias used by the founder of Project Venture and is the primary antagonist of the first and fourth seasons of Syndicate. Sapient is an anthropocentric extremist, i.e. a human supremacist, that believes non-humans cannot be trusted no matter how well-intentioned they seem. His initial goal was to create countermeasures against all known non-human species but his intentions soon strayed following the formation of Syndicate and he eventually became what he feared – a force for good gone rogue.
