Huw the Giant was a Hero and knight of the Old Kingdom, and the original owner of the Harbinger, the legendary longsword. His title was the result of his enormous strength and size. Wielding the Harbinger, Huw cut through men and demons like parchment, but the sword possessed power, power that mortals could not control. So as he lay dying, he thrust the sword deep into the rock near what was to become the Temple of Avo, believing that it would remain there indefinitely, or until a person came along with the strength to wield it.
