The Battle of Alpha Aurigae was a major battle in the early years of the Human-Covenant war. The human fleet, consisting of 117 ships, engaged 12 Covenant warships, destroying the enemy force but losing a total of thirty-seven ships in the process. It was one of the rare naval "victories" for the UNSC.
