Sam receives a call from Fred Fernley saying he's selling out today and moving to Scarborough as NY Estates are taking over, he offers the Sugdens any odds and ends they may want. Annie visits Nellie and is concerned to discover that she's been unwell. She finds a letter from NY Estates wanting to evict Nellie from her cottage but she vows she is staying put. Henry advises her to get a solicitor. Amos finds himself with a dilemna when he realises the Hotten Courier have gotten wind of Nellie's potential eviction. Annie wants to ask Sam to persuade Nellie to get a council flat. Sam's furious when he finds out the news of Nellie's looming eviction.
