Professor Goodfellow sent the G.E.E.C. Satellite into orbit around the Earth. It was used to coordinate and control all electronic equipment around the world. The satellite also housed the 'kill-switch' for the G.E.E.C. computer in case of emergencies. Interestingly, the professor put Kryptonite in the satellite to keep even Superman away.
