Dinamo Vologda is a Uralican football (soccer) club, which plays in the Bolakliiga. It started out largely as a semi-professional club, toiling in the lower levels of the Soviet and later the Russian systems. Founded as Lokomotiv Vologda in 1926, it changed its name to its present name in 1966. It did not participate in the inaugural Bolakliiga season, however it finished upper mid-table (9th, that is) in the 2009 season, tied in the points with Telekom Pazhga but ahead of them based on having both better goal differential and more wins.
