The role of Laura Garfield is played by Lisa Langlois in the Season Two episode "Capital Offense". Garfield is a convicted murderer from Texas who escaped from death row and came to Canada. A woman with a bad history, she married a drug dealer, David Garfield, whom she later hacked to death with an axe. She was convicted on the testimony of his friends, Danny Carruthers and Billy Briese. While in Toronto, she got revenge by murdering Briese and also tried to kill Carruthers.
