Homer Milton was a soldier of the War of 1812. He participated in the Battle of Queenston Heights, the first major battle of the war. In 1813, he commanded Fort Hull for a time during the Creek War, after General John Floyd retreated. Milton combined his forces with those of Gilbert C. Russell and Andrew Jackson in the months after the Battle of Horseshoe Bend.
