Gen Obata, following the end of the Thousand Year Blood War, became the Third Seat of the Third Division in the Gotei 13. He was formally the Lieutenant of the Kido Corpse, but was demoted due to a series of cases of insubordination. His Captain is Obara Mikuzora, who joined the Third Division the same time Gen did.
