Percival "Percy" Pinkerton joined the Howling Commandos, an elite group of soldiers that fought Nazis during World War II. During this time he wore an iconic beret and glasses. They were led by Sergeant Nick Fury. Other members of the group consisted of Rebel Ralston, Izzy Cohen, Dino Manelli, and Dum Dum Dugan. Though he was not part of the team, they were good friends with Captain America and worked with him several times. They saw Captain America and Logan fall off an airplane and followed them. They witnessed the two escape a hay cart before it fell over a cliff.
