Billions of years ago, a group of Anschlasom traversed the Som anomaly and stranded on a class M planet in the Delta Quadrant ten millennia before the 24th century. They recounted their journey in an underground cave and depicted Hanara, among other astronomical objects on stones as a guide to that cave. The galaxies Illiara and Oskria laid in the same direction as Hanara. (VOY novel: The Eternal Tide) When the Mikhal Travelers established an outpost on the planet after it was abandoned, they came across the surface artifacts but failed to decipher their meaning.
