Sessrendale, or "the Dead Dale", was founded in 880 DR and destroyed by army from Archendale in the Sessrendale War, (1232 DR) who then salted the earth to prevent resettlement. Some of the families, following the destruction of Sessrendale, fled to Battledale and Deepingdale. Others were driven west into Cormyr. The Dusk Lord who was the ruler of Sessrendale in 1232 DR fled, and some said to the Vast Swamp.
