The Zefram Cochrane Institute for Advanced Theoretical Physics was a 24th century engineering institute that worked in association with Starfleet and Starfleet Academy. The institute was named for the inventor of warp drive on Earth, Zefram Cochrane. This institute awarded students at the Academy with the Cochrane Medal of Excellence for their contributions to warp theory. In 2370, the institute's director was Leah Brahms.
