The Einherjar were the chosen warriors that had fallen in battle and were lifted by the Valkyries to Valhalla where they would battle all day and eat all evening, preparing for the battle at Ragnarök. Only the best and most honorable warriors could become Einherjar and reach Valhalla. Each day they would fight each other and have their wounds healed by magic.
