Jem was the captain of a recovery vessel, leading a group of scavengers. Either by accident or intention, they came across the remains of terran and protoss ships near Chau Sara. However, a protoss warship remained, firing upon Jem's vessel. Jem was killed in the attack, his head splattering all over the cabin.
