The Universal Studios Backlot is the term for filming sites for town scenes at the studios at Universal Studios locations in Hollywood, California and Orlando, Florida. The Backlot is shown as part of the Studio Tour at the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park. The popularity of the Studio Tour led to a smaller version called the Production Studio Tour to be shown at the Universal Studios Florida theme park in Orlando, from the opening of the park on June 7, 1990, to 1995, when the attraction closed. Although the Production Tour has closed, the Backlot in the Florida studio is still used for filming.
