The marathon first aired on February 9, 2003 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm and featured 13 NBA players telling viewers about their favorite cartoon characters and introducing some of the best cartoons featuring those characters in a special marathon leading up to the tip-off of the 2003 NBA all-star game on sister network TNT. Cartoon characters featured in the marathon ranged from the Powerpuff Girls, Bugs Bunny and Scooby-Doo, to the ThunderCats, Godzilla and Yosemite Sam.
