Xander's disc was a nickel that had been flattened on a rail-road track. When Toth split Xander Harris into two, the stronger willed double carried the disc wherever he went. The weaker willed double feared it was a magical device used to disorient or hypnotize because of the success that he enjoyed. When the two established that each of them were the same person, the stronger Xander admitted that he just kept the disc around because he thought it was cool.
