Ranmaru Shindo, five years after surviving the Macida Massacre, has just graduated from Cadet to a full-fledge investigator. After investigating a homocide with his partner and friend Ichiro Hanazono they find there is something strange about the murderer. He confronts then and his strength is overpowering. Ranmaru thought he was about to die, and on his first day too, when he is saved by a redheaded woman with a sword. Ranmaru immediately recgonizes her from his nightmares and it turns out she is part of the mysterious TOKKO department. The rumor about Tokko officals is that they are not even human.
