Federal State of Austria-Hungary is the federation of the territories and lands of the Habsburg House in Central Europe, created after the Hungarian Civil War and World War I in 1920. The multinational federal state is a constitutional monarchy and is the historical successor of the Dual Monarchy of 1861. Austria-Hungary is in Central Europe, bordered by Germany and Poland to the north, Ukraine and Romania to the east; Serbia to the south; and Italy and Germany, to the west.
