Algon was the Horsemaster of the Castle Crydee. He was second in command after Swordmaster Fannon. Described as brilliant with horses, but remove them and he is proven an indifferent thinker. He is surprisingly knowledgeable about weapons, especially the recurved bows of Great Kesh. During the Choosing, he chose Rulf as his apprentice. When Fannon was injured during the Siege of Crydee, Arutha takes command, putting Gardan as his second in command. Algon gave a sigh of relief over not having to take charge, rather than a sign of anger as others expected.
