The Republic of Quebec held the Canadian Province of Quebec during the North American War, and fought against New York, allying with New England. The alliance was often one of convenience, and both New England and Quebec backstabbed each other in attempts to seize more of New York for themselves. The Republic of Quebec was only recognized by two nations, the Papal States and the Republic of New England. Both withdrew their recognition after the proclamation of the People's Republic of Quebec.
