Temple Vanguards were common soldiers of the Temple Security Force, the defenders of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. They wielded rocket launchers and thermal detonators. Trained by Jedi Knights, Temple Vanguards were considered an adequate force. They served the Jedi Order until Operation Knightfall, after which surviving members joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Later after the Galactic Civil War, Luke Skywalker restored the position for the New Jedi Order.
