HMS Longshoreman was a ready-duty tug of the Royal Manticoran Navy, assigned to the space station HMSS Hephaestus. In 1922 PD, the vessel was towing the brand new Edward Saganami-C-class heavy cruiser HMS Jessica Rice away from the station when the Mesan Alignment Navy's Operation Oyster Bay hit the facilities. A Mesan graser torpedo scored a direct hit on the station's spine, slashing through it and hitting Jessica Rice's unarmored topsides. The cruiser exploded, disabling Longshoreman's after impeller ring, sending her wedge into automatic shutdown and leaving her unprotected as a piece of debris slammed into her and destroyed her.
