A geological technician was a technician who specialized in the technical aspects of geology. They were sometimes part of away teams conducting geological surveys on planets. Crewman Fisher was the geological technician aboard the starship USS Enterprise in 2266. He was a part of the geological survey of planet Alfa 177 when he injured himself in a fall and required transport back to the Enterprise. (TOS: "The Enemy Within" )
