Tomo was a shugenja under the command of Yari, a bandit lord. They began a reign of terror launching a series of attacks against the nearby villages from a magical Castle of Earth, summoned by Tomo. The castle had been built on a harsh plain of stone and rock, ill-suited for moving armies and normally unable to support any kind of structure, making the fortress very difficult to besiege by the local daimyo. Tomo must periodically visit the castle's foundations and refresh the spell; that would be the only way to keep the castle up for so long. A group of samurai disguised themselves as ronin, and infiltrated the bandit's army, dislodging the magical structure.
